Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is opening doors for its students to have easy mobility and access to study opportunities overseas.
This initiative comes as a result of a partnership with the French Embassy, which aims to provide local students with additional study opportunities in various academic programs in France.
The partnership between the French Embassy and KNUST reaffirms their commitment to supporting young Ghanaians in furthering their education in world-class colleges and universities in France.
In a bid to provide study-in-France academic solutions to students, the French Embassy, through its educational consult, Campus France, hosted a maiden Education Fair in Kumasi. The fair saw the participation of nearly 74 French universities and colleges, all providing opportunities for prospective students to study in France.
The fair attracted thousands of prospective students looking to explore opportunities to study engineering, business, and humanities in France. Julien Lucas, the Head of Cooperation and Cultural Affairs at the French Embassy, confirmed that over 500,000 Africans currently receive education in France. He also emphasized the Embassy’s commitment to assisting more prospective students in France and encouraging Ghanaians to embrace the opportunity to study in France.
Prof Kwabena Biritwum Nyarko, the Provost of the College of Engineering at KNUST, expressed KNUST’s readiness to embrace the mobility partnerships, citing existing collaboration in collaborative research under MOUs with some French universities.
Campus France representative Mathieu Bragato also highlighted the quality and affordability of education in France, emphasizing that many schools have expenses absorbed by the government and the institution. The fair also showcased opportunities in various study areas available in France, providing holistic and quality education for Ghanaian students.
The partnership between KNUST and the French Embassy not only opens doors for local students to explore study opportunities in France but also reinforces the commitment to fostering international education partnerships and collaborations. The move further underscores the value placed on providing Ghanaian students with access to quality academic experiences globally.
