Ghana’s Minister of Lands, Samuel A. Jinapor, recently highlighted the country’s attractiveness to investors due to its stable democracy, improved business environment, and focus on value addition in the mineral sector. Speaking at the Prospectors And Developers Association Of Canada (PDAC) Convention, the Minister emphasized the government’s initiatives to promote investment and prosperity for all stakeholders.

One key area of focus for Ghana is the green mineral market, particularly the extraction of lithium. The government has approved a policy for the exploitation of these minerals, offering investment incentives and ensuring optimal returns. Atlantic Lithium, a company listed on the Australian and London Stock Exchanges, has been granted a Mining Lease to mine lithium deposits in the country.

On the path to becoming a mining hub in Africa, Ghana is also pursuing value addition to its raw minerals through the establishment of refineries for aluminum and iron and steel. Additionally, the government is actively engaging mining companies to prioritize local content and employment of Ghanaian citizens in the sector.
