Ghanaian gospel artist Akesse Brempong, also known as Phil Evans Akesse-Brempong, has shared in an upcoming interview with Amelley Djosu on Joy Prime’s Celeb Biz that his life’s purpose was revealed to him at the age of 17. He explained that prophetic words were spoken about his destiny even before his birth.

Akesse Brempong shared that he had an encounter with God during his time at Kumasi High School, which solidified his faith and set him on a path of leadership. He mentioned that his conversion to a born-again Christian happened during his high school days, and not long after, he started taking on leadership roles within the school.

Despite knowing his purpose early on, he didn’t immediately pursue ministry. Akesse Brempong described himself as a “funky young man” and was not initially enthusiastic about becoming a pastor. However, after meeting Precious Heymann, the then president of Voice of the Spirit, who became his spiritual father, he eventually yielded to ministry when the time was right.

Before his encounter with God, Akesse Brempong revealed that he was known as one of the rowdiest kids in his neighborhood. However, the heartfelt prayer his father said for him before he entered high school played a significant role in keeping him from going astray during his high school years.

While Akesse Brempong started his music career in 2014, it wasn’t until 2019 that he began his ministry journey. He plans to share more about his life and experiences in the upcoming interview on Joy Prime on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 5 p.m.
