Minority Leader, Ato Forson, has expressed concern about the increasing size of the government under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He had hoped that the President would use the recent reshuffle to streamline the government, but instead, the government size has grown with the addition of new portfolios.

In his remarks following the State of the Nation Address, Ato Forson remarked, “I am alarmed to see that our president, after the recent ministerial reshuffle, has expanded the size of his government.”

He went on to say, “Today we have both a Minister of Finance for domestic affairs and a Minister of Finance for international affairs.”

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in response to calls for a reshuffle, replaced Ken Ofori Atta as Minister of Finance.

However, he appointed him as a senior advisor and envoy for international finance and private sector investments.
