Friends of Adaklu, a non-profit organization, has launched an exchange program aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Adaklu District of the Volta Region in Ghana. The program is designed to use the SDGs as a framework to learn about culture, address societal challenges, and enhance human capacity development.

Through the Exchange Program, students from the Adaklu Goefe District Assembly Junior High School in Ghana will partner with Eastern Middle School in Indiana and Morton High School in Illinois, United States. The exchange will involve sharing ideas and knowledge via the internet, exposing students to the SDGs and their adoption in finding local solutions to challenges. The program will also emphasize the role of globalization in community development.

Stella Kudah, the Country Director of Friends of Adaklu, believes that the program will help Ghanaian students learn about different approaches to solving challenges, making them more informed global citizens. The students themselves are thrilled about the program, hoping that it will impact their education, social life, and mindset in finding solutions using local resources.

Parents are also encouraged to support their children’s participation in the program, as it will broaden their horizons and expand their perspectives. The exchange of cultural values, education, science, and other areas between the two countries is expected to be mutually beneficial.

Ultimately, Friends of Adaklu’s initiative is poised to shape the future of the next generation and elevate the social and economic status of the Adaklu District in Ghana. This exchange program represents a valuable opportunity for students to grow, learn, and contribute to the global community.
