The Vice President and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is set to present his campaign team to the NPP National Executive Committee (NEC) for approval on Monday, 19th February 2024.
Sources within the NPP have indicated that Dr. Bawumia has been engaged in extensive consultations within the party’s leadership during the composition process of his campaign team.
The presentation to the NEC is expected to reflect the philosophy, strategy, and focus of the NPP’s 2024 campaign. Following the presentation, “Team Bawumia” is expected to be unveiled, with prominent political figures and dynamic individuals included in the team.
Additionally, President Akufo-Addo recently announced a significant reshuffle in his government, with 13 ministers and 10 deputy ministers losing their positions, and new appointees and reassignments made.
Key personalities expected to be named in Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team include Dan Botwe, the immediate past Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation, and Rural Development, General Secretary of the NPP Justin Frimpong Kodua, former NPP Member of Parliament for Suhum Frederick Opare-Ansah, and Kwabena Agyepong, among others.
The formation of Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team signals an important step in the party’s preparations for the 2024 general elections, with a focus on a cohesive and strategic approach towards a successful campaign.
