A 20-year-old man, Abdullah Mohammed, has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for robbing and killing a 74-year-old stroke patient, Alice Kakari.

The tragic incident occurred near the Ballon Hotel at Awutu Senya East in the Central region. The convict tied the woman with a rope, cut her neck, and ransacked her three-bedroom house, stealing valuable items and an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect was caught on a CCTV mounted in the victim’s home. The Kasoa Ofaakor Circuit Court is still trying him for the murder, for which he has been remanded.
