The incumbent MP for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has responded to rumors that she intends to run as an independent candidate for the upcoming 2024 parliamentary election after losing the primary in the January 28 polls.

She clarified on her Facebook page that despite the setback, she remains committed to the values of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and is determined to cooperate with the party’s goal to ‘break the 8’ in December 2024 with Vice President H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Having represented the people of Dome Kwabenya for three consecutive terms on the ticket of the NPP, she reaffirmed her commitment to the party’s values and made it clear that she has no intention of running as an independent candidate in the upcoming elections or at any point in the foreseeable future.

She assured the party that she would continue to work hard to serve the interests of the people and the party at large in the remaining months until she hands over to her successor.

She added that she remains dedicated to working collaboratively with the Leadership of the party in the constituency to pursue goals that unite them for the campaign and execution of Government business expeditiously.
