A 20-year-old man named Mohammed Abdullah has been arrested and remanded by the Ofaakor Circuit Court for the alleged murder of a 74-year-old stroke patient.
The tragic incident occurred at Kasoa Lamtey, near Ballon Hotel at Awutu Senya East in the Central region.
It is reported that the suspect tied the woman with a rope, cut her neck, and ransacked her three-bedroom house, stealing valuable items and an undisclosed amount of money.
The arrest was made possible as CCTV cameras in the house captured the suspect.
Speaking on the matter, Municipal Chief Executive, Anita Love Obo Amissah urged residents to consider installing CCTV cameras in their houses and stores to aid the police in fighting crime in the municipality.
