The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has played a vital role in shaping the music industry in the country, with prominent artists such as Kuami Eugene and Adina emerging from the union’s music integration project.
Established in 1975 and supported by the PNDC government, MUSIGA has been a driving force in promoting Ghanaian music.
As MUSIGA approaches its 50th anniversary in March 2025, the second vice president, Abena Ruthy, has highlighted the success stories of artists who have benefited from the union’s initiatives.
In a recent interview on Channel One TV’s ‘The Chat’, Abena Ruthy emphasized the importance of training programs and funding opportunities provided by MUSIGA, including collaborations with institutions like NAFTI.
Under the leadership of President Bessa Simons, MUSIGA continues to support and empower musicians across the country. Abena Ruthy encourages all artists to join the union to access resources and training that can help them further their careers in the music industry.
