The Telecel Music Awards board has made revisions to its nominations list after a comprehensive review, with musician Amerado expressing satisfaction with the changes. Amerado’s song ‘Kwaku Ananse’ has been nominated for Most Popular Song of the Year, and the original version of the song is now in the running for Best Highlife Song.
In an interview, Amerado shared his contentment with the recognition his song has received in these major categories. Despite this, the rapper expressed a desire to be acknowledged in the Songwriter of the Year category, stating that he will continue to work hard to achieve this goal.
The revisions come after Charterhouse confirmed adjustments to entries for Lonely Road by O’Kenneth & Xlim Kid and Kwaku Ananse by Amerado. The board also introduced new categories, including Producer of the Year, Best Video Director, and Audio Engineer of the Year, with nominees such as Kuami Eugene and Killbeatz vying for the Producer of the Year award.
Additionally, some of Ghana’s top directors who have worked with prominent artists like Black Sherif and Stonebwoy are up for the Best Director Awards.
