Offset is set to perform at Moscow’s MTC Live Hall on 18 April. The US-based rapper, whose real name is Kiari Cephus, confirmed the show on his Instagram.
Offset, signed to Motown Records, announced the gig despite the label suspending operations in Russia following the country’s invasion of Ukraine. Other major record labels and promoters, including Live Nation, Warner Music Group, and Sony Music, took similar actions in response to the conflict.
While many artists have canceled shows in Russia, some have resumed performances. Rapper DaBaby, signed to Interscope, recently played a gig in Moscow. Additionally, some Russian musicians have faced backlash for expressing anti-war views.
Offset, known for his work with the rap trio Migos, has released solo music since 2017.
Last year, he completed his first solo headlining tour after the release of his album “Set It Off”. The gig in Moscow, not officially confirmed by Motown Records, is listed on a dedicated event site shared by Offset and the venue. Tickets for the show are priced between 5,000 – 45,000 Russian roubles.
The announcement of Offset’s performance comes amidst ongoing international sanctions and humanitarian relief efforts to support refugees in the region.
The rapper, formerly married to Cardi B, is described as a captivating performer who aims to bring energy and confidence to his shows. Despite the uncertainties surrounding the event, fans are eager to see him turn the concert into a theatrical performance.
