Renowned Ghanaian musician, Atongo Zimba, recently opened up about his challenging journey as a young musician trying to make ends meet.
In a candid interview on E Vibes with host Becky, Zimba shared the hardships he faced in his early days in the music industry.
Zimba revealed that he had no choice but to perform on the streets, where he would graciously accept whatever people offered him, whether it was pepper, salt, coins, or even notes. Despite the meager earnings, Zimba persevered with determination and passion for his craft.
The talented musician described his typical day, which would begin at 6 am and end at 6 pm, filled with hours of playing music for passersby. At the end of each exhausting day, Zimba would collect his earnings in his instrument case, sometimes receiving only salt and pepper, and resort to taking paracetamol to alleviate his fatigue.
