Ghanaian music producer and gospel musician Nana Kwaku Osei, popularly known as Nacee, has brought attention to the financial challenges faced by gospel artists in the industry.
In an interview with GhanaWeb, Nacee highlighted the issue of event organizers not adequately compensating gospel musicians for their performances.
He expressed concern that this lack of financial support is hindering the progress of the gospel music industry, stating, “We lack financial support because most gospel musicians, mostly they go to programs, and then the event organizers are not paying them as much as they deserve. So we fight more than we are supposed to do.”
Nacee emphasized the importance of financial backing for gospel artists, noting that it would significantly impact their ministry. He believes that with proper finances or financial support, gospel musicians will be able to do more in terms of their music and outreach.
These comments were made during the 2024 edition of the Praise Achievement Awards ceremony held in Accra on November 24, 2024, at the Perez Dome. The event served as a platform for gospel artists and industry players to come together and celebrate their achievements.
It is clear that the issue of financial compensation for gospel musicians is a pressing concern that needs to be addressed in order to support the growth and development of the gospel music industry in Ghana.
