Ghanaian music producer and the Chief Executive Officer of Xtra Large Music, Joshua Raphaelson, also known as JMJ, recently expressed gratitude to the musicians who contributed to the success of his former artist, Kaakie.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, JMJ shared an artwork showcasing the various musicians that played a role in Kaakie’s music.

Acknowledging the support and contributions of these musicians, JMJ captioned the post with words of appreciation, stating, “Better late than never. An opportunity to once again thank all who contributed in every big or small way. Love and support, I ask the energies repay y’all with double energy.”

In an exclusive interview with Joy Entertainment, JMJ highlighted Kaakie’s exceptional talent but noted the importance of experienced songwriters in enhancing her music.

Musicians such as Lingua Kat, Edem, Samini, Sarkodie, Ghetto KB, Wutah Kobby, Stonebwoy, Adi Virgo, Klem, and others played a significant role in supporting Kaakie’s projects through songwriting. He also credited Ubeatz for mixing and mastering the songs.

Describing Kaakie’s work ethic and talent, JMJ mentioned, “Kaakie was very fortunate but she also worked hard.

I have never seen a talented young lady like Kaakie. That girl spent less than 10 minutes in the studio, learning the song, and the next thing she was done. Her first take is the best. Even if I recorded 100 takes, I would always go back to the first take.”

Reflecting on the music-making process, JMJ explained that he would produce the beat, provide songwriters with a subject to write about, and then they would compose the songs. Elorm Beenie and the songwriters would ensure that Kaakie understood and interpreted the lyrics well in her delivery.

Highlighting the collaborative nature of the music production, JMJ shared, “Highgrade was the base, and it was my studio that all this happened, so today Stone will come in, tomorrow Lingua Kat will come in, Samini, Edem, and all the others.”

JMJ’s post also sheds light on a previous controversy involving Stonebwoy claiming to have written Kaakie’s first three hit songs. The acknowledgment of Stonebwoy’s involvement in Kaakie’s music by JMJ serves to clarify the contributions of various individuals to the growth of the Kaakie brand.

Following Kaakie’s departure from Xtra Large Music in 2017, JMJ has continued to work with other notable artists such as Samini, 4×4, Bryan The Mensah, Kofi Jamar, Obrafour, Amerado, Strongman, Stonebwoy, Mugeez, Iwan, Jupitar, among others. Additionally, JMJ has hinted at releasing a new music project in the near future.
