Highlife musician Kofi Kinaata remains hopeful that he will eventually win the prestigious Artiste of the Year award at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, despite not clinching the title yet. In a recent interview on Prime Morning on Joy Prime, he expressed his confidence that the award will come to him at the right time.
Acknowledging the pressure from his fans, Kofi Kinaata emphasized that his main focus is on serving the people and creating music that resonates with them. He cited his songs “Effiakuma Love” and “Effiakuma Broken Heart” as examples of how his music connects with different emotions and situations.
Although he was nominated for the first time in the Artiste of the Year category at the Ghana Music Awards in 2020, Kofi Kinaata lost out to Kuami Eugene. This year, he has received nominations in the Best Reggae Song of the Year, Best Highlife Song of the Year, and Best Highlife Artiste of the Year categories.
Currently, Kofi Kinaata has released a new song titled “Effiakuma Broken Heart,” which explores themes of disappointment in relationships. Despite the setbacks, he remains dedicated to his craft and is determined to continue producing music that resonates with his audience.
