The Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is set to be the flagbearer for the ruling New Patriotic Party in the 2024 elections, recently paid a visit to gospel musician Yaw Sarpong, who has been ill for some time.
The news of Yaw Sarpong’s health struggles first surfaced in March 2024, causing concern among his fans.
Dr. Bawumia, who is currently on a campaign tour in the Ashanti region, took the opportunity to visit Yaw Sarpong on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
He was accompanied by prominent NPP figures including the National Chairman, Stephen Ntim, and the Ashanti NPP Regional Chairman, Antwi-Boasiako, also known as Wontumi.
During the visit, gospel musician Nicholas Omane-Acheampong and Tiwaah, known for their work with Yaw Sarpong and Asomafo, led the gathering in singing the popular song “Wo haw ne sen.”
It is heartening to see political leaders like Dr. Bawumia taking the time to show care and support for members of the community, especially during challenging times.
