Popular Kumawood actor and comedian Kwadwo Nkansah, widely known as LilWin, recently made his first public appearance just hours after being involved in a serious road accident on May 25, 2024, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
Videos of the incident quickly spread across social media platforms, showing LilWin being assisted out of a vehicle with the movie title “A Country Called Ghana” written on it, and then being transferred to another car.
The accident took place in front of Grace Baptist Church at Amakom in Kumasi. LilWin was driving his Benz with two other passengers when they collided head-on with another vehicle. All occupants, including LilWin, sustained injuries and were promptly taken to the Accident and Emergency Unit of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
Reports from UTV later confirmed that LilWin had undergone surgery following the accident. Despite his injuries, he was determined to attend the Kumasi premiere of his movie, “A Country Called Ghana,” at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). His presence was marked by a plaster on his head, indicating the severity of the injuries sustained.
Witnesses revealed that LilWin, his road manager, and bodyguard only suffered minor injuries. The accident occurred while LilWin was en route to the funeral of actress Matilda Asare’s mother.
Fans and colleagues were relieved to see LilWin making a public appearance so soon after the accident, showcasing his resilience and dedication to his craft. We wish him a speedy recovery and continued success in his career.
