Ghanaian actress Jackie Appiah has once again proven her talent and skill in the film industry by winning the Best Actress in a Leading Role award at the 2024 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAAs).
The prestigious event took place in Lagos, Nigeria on Saturday, November 2, 2024.
Jackie Appiah received this accolade for her outstanding performance in the movie ‘Red Carpet’, produced by filmmaker and costume designer Samira Yakubu, who also happens to be Jackie’s manager.
Directed by Frank Rajah Arase, ‘Red Carpet’ features a star-studded cast including Grace Omaboe, Selly Ghally, Kalsoume Sinare, Roseline Ngissah, Adjetey Annang, Abeiku Santana, Deyemi Okanlawon, and Beverly Afaglo.
This is not the first time Jackie Appiah has been recognized at the AMAAs. In 2007, she won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in ‘Beyonce’. Additionally, in 2010, she clinched the Best Actress in a Leading Role award for her performance in ‘The Perfect Picture’, produced by Shirley Frimpong Manso.
Jackie Appiah has solidified her position as a talented and versatile actress over the years, with her exceptional acting skills and brand positioning.
