Mimi Andani, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Golden Movie Awards, has made a surprising confession regarding the reason behind the awards scheme’s hiatus. In a recent interview with Joy Prime’s Celeb Biz, Andani revealed that she had initially misled the public about the cause of the break.
Originally, Andani had stated that a lack of support from corporate Ghana was the main factor behind putting the awards on hold. However, she disclosed in the interview that her personal issues, specifically her divorce, were actually the driving force behind the decision.
Andani admitted, “For the sponsorship reason I gave first, the truth is, it wasn’t the sponsorship. It was that I was getting divorced, and so I have to give a nice reason once I go through my divorce.” The disagreement between the founders, exacerbated by the complications of partnering with a spouse, was the real reason for the pause in the prestigious awards ceremony.
Despite this unexpected revelation, Andani remains hopeful about the future of the Golden Movie Awards. She believes that securing sponsorships will not be a challenge due to the brand’s well-established reputation. Andani expressed optimism that the awards will soon return after this unforeseen hiatus.
