Ex- President Kufuor’s son stars as president in upcoming movie ‘The Storm’

The son of former Ghanaian President John Agyekum Kufuor, Edward Kufuor, has made his acting debut in the upcoming movie “The Storm”.

The film depicts a fictional president facing challenges with corruption and lawlessness, with Edward Kufuor’s character acknowledging that his father did a better job as president in real life.

The audience erupted in laughter at Kufuor’s lighthearted confession, adding to the anticipation for the movie’s premiere this weekend.

“The Storm” features a star-studded cast including Ama K. Abebrese, Adjetey Anang, Fiifi Coleman, Samini, Salma Mumin, and Luckie Lawson.

Set in the city of Accra, the film follows a surge in criminal activity, with gangsters causing chaos in the community.

Against this backdrop of murder, kidnapping, and corruption, a few brave individuals rise up to fight back.

Detectives Danso and Lynn, played by Adjetey Anang and Ama K. Abebrese, are determined to bring justice to the city, along with social advocate Milly, portrayed by Luckie Lawson.

As the story unfolds with a brutal murder and kidnapping of young women, the characters’ lives are intertwined in a fight against crime and corruption.

Detective Danso, played by Adjetey Anang, uncovers the truth behind the crimes, while Milly’s advocacy work gains momentum, bringing her into a tense encounter with President Edward Agyekum Kufuor.

Audiences will be kept on the edge of their seats as they watch the drama unfold, wondering if Milly will survive her confrontation with the president.

Director Ben Owusu invites movie lovers to experience the gripping film, which took almost three years to produce, and pays tribute to four cast members who passed away during filming.

“The Storm” will premiere at Silverbird Cinemas in Accra on September 21 and at Royal View Cinema in Kumasi on September 22.
