Renowned Ghanaian director and actor, Fiifi Coleman, has pledged to uphold the legacy of celebrated author and playwright Ama Ata Aidoo through the powerful stage play, Dilemma of a Ghost.
During a recent review of the play on Channel One TV’s program, The Chat, Coleman emphasized the importance of keeping Aidoo’s literary work alive for both present and future audiences.
Coleman stated, “What we are doing now is to continue her legacy. Ama Ata Aidoo should be on the lips of every Ghanaian.
Even if you forget any of her books, it shouldn’t be Dilemma of a Ghost. There shouldn’t be a book that can be forgotten—her work deserves to be related to and remembered.”
His dedication to frequently staging this iconic play stems from the profound moral lessons embedded within its narrative.
Coleman reassured theater-goers that this will not be the last time they see Dilemma of a Ghost on stage. “Every now and then, I will be staging this play. This is not the last time. The last time I staged this play was two years ago, and I am doing this because of the moral lessons in there,” he remarked.
