Ghanaian actress Ama K. Abebrese has opened up about the challenges faced by actors in the industry.
In an interview with Joy Prime’s Roselyn Felli on the show Changes, Ama K. Abebrese discussed the resilience needed to navigate the tough process of auditioning for roles.
She emphasized the disappointments that come with auditioning for roles, where actors can go through multiple callbacks only to be ultimately rejected.
Despite her experience in the industry, Ama K. Abebrese revealed that she has auditioned for more roles than she has actually been cast in, losing over twenty roles in the past year alone.
However, she remains determined and sees each audition as an opportunity to improve and grow.
Ama K. Abebrese noted that the rejections help her understand that not every role is meant for her and that there is always a reason behind not getting a particular part.
Throughout her career, Ama K. Abebrese has appeared in about twenty films, focusing on quality rather than quantity. Some of her notable works include ‘Beast of No Nation,’ ‘Sinking Sands,’ ‘Double-Cross,’ and ‘Azali.’
