Approximately 2,000 widows in Jamestown, located in the Greater Accra Region, were the recipients of a generous donation of food items from the McDan Foundation in collaboration with Ridne, a company based in Ukraine.
As part of the International Women’s Day celebration, the McDan Foundation organized an annual event where rice and beverages were distributed to widows who are considered vulnerable in society.
The event took place at the Mantse Agbonaa Park in Jamestown and also included health screenings for the widows. Dr. Daniel McKorley, the Chairman of the McDan Group of Companies, expressed his joy at seeing the less fortunate individuals excited and emphasized his commitment to giving back to the community and the nation of Ghana.
Dr. McKorley highlighted the McDan Group’s 20-year history of engaging in Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and described the donation as part of the ongoing efforts to support those in need. He acknowledged the challenges faced by widows in the country and expressed his excitement about celebrating the day with them.
Several beneficiaries of the donation expressed their gratitude for the support received and extended well wishes to the McDan Group and its management for their kindness.
