The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) is gearing up to introduce ‘Feast Ghana’, a new project designed to highlight local cuisine and showcase the diverse culinary landscape of the country.
Scheduled to debut on Wednesday, April 17, at the Accra Tourist Information Centre (ATIC), Feast Ghana is a collaborative effort between GTA, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the Asanteman Queenmothers Association, and the Public Service Workers Union of the Trades Union Congress (PSWU of TUC).
The inaugural edition of Feast Ghana will spotlight Ghana’s rich culinary heritage under the theme ‘Flavours Of Ghana, Celebrating Ghana’s Cultural Diversity Through Food’.
After the launch, Feast Ghana will journey to the Ashanti Region on April 22 in partnership with the Asanteman Queenmothers Association to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene.
Additionally, on May Day at the Accra International Conference Centre, GTA, in collaboration with the PSWU of TUC, will host a grand celebration of Feast Ghana, promising a memorable display of Ghana’s local foods, emphasizing unity, diversity, and the vibrant spirit of its people.
Attendees can expect to indulge in traditional dishes, culinary delights, and a homage to Ghana’s heritage throughout the Feast Ghana experience.
Akwasi Agyeman, CEO of GTA, emphasized that Feast Ghana presents an opportunity to showcase the vibrant culinary richness of Ghana and celebrate the unity and diversity embedded in the country’s food culture.
“This program aligns with the ‘See Ghana, Eat Ghana, Wear Ghana and Feel Ghana’ campaign introduced by GTA a few years ago,” he added.
Feast Ghana aims to not only promote local foods but also showcase the cultural diversity of Ghana through its culinary offerings.
