Rapper Gloria Hallelujah Woods, known by her stage name GloRilla, found herself in a sticky situation after being arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated.

The 24-year-old was apprehended by police in Gwinnett County, Georgia, for allegedly making an illegal U-turn at a red light.

GloRilla, who hails from Memphis, Tennessee, had a strict upbringing in a religious household and was homeschooled until fifth grade. Despite the restrictions, her love for music blossomed at a young age, with her venturing into the world of rap at just 16 years old. She initially aspired to be a singer but shifted her focus to rap after losing her voice.

Her rise to fame came with the release of her hit song ‘F.N.N (Let’s Go)’ in 2022, which climbed the Billboard Hot 100 charts. This caught the attention of Memphis legend Yo Gotti, who signed her to Collective Music Group. GloRilla continued her streak of success with another hit, ‘Tomorrow,’ featuring Cardi B, which earned her a double platinum certification from the RIAA.

However, her recent arrest has raised eyebrows in the music industry. She was taken into custody by police after failing sobriety tests, including eye-tracking and balancing exercises. Despite being bonded out a few hours later, GloRilla faces charges of driving under the influence, having an open alcoholic beverage, and a traffic violation.

The incident has not seemed to faze GloRilla, as she has been active on social media, sharing videos and memes related to her music. The rapper continues to engage with her fans, showcasing her resilience in the face of adversity.

Driving under the influence is a serious offence across all states in the US, with penalties varying depending on jurisdiction. Law enforcement officers have the authority to conduct chemical tests on drivers suspected of impairment, with drivers risking automatic penalties for refusing these tests.
