To complete the look, celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton transformed Kim’s dark locks into a stunning platinum-blonde style, complementing the dress perfectly. Speaking about the transformation, Appleton highlighted the importance of planning and technique to achieve the desired result.
The iconic dress, originally auctioned off in 1999, was purchased by Canadian billionaire Jim Pattinson for Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! The dress is currently housed in a secure vault in the Ripley’s Orlando museum and was on display for the Met Gala. Despite the dress’s historical significance, Kim Kardashian was given the opportunity to wear it with strict guidelines in place to ensure its preservation.
After the event, Kim took to social media to thank Ripley’s for allowing her to wear this piece of fashion history and expressed her gratitude for the experience.
