We are deeply saddened to report the passing of beloved entertainment reporter Sam Rubin in Los Angeles. The award-winning journalist, who was 64 years old, passed away suddenly in a Los Angeles hospital on May 10.
Sam Rubin was a well-known figure in the Los Angeles area, working as a reporter at KTLA since 1991. He covered entertainment, movie, and TV news, and was also part of the showbiz segment for ITV’s This Morning.
Throughout his career, Rubin interviewed many A-list celebrities, earning multiple Emmy Awards and a lifetime achievement award from the Southern California Broadcasters Association.
Rubin was survived by his widow, Leslie, and their four children, living together in their Brentwood home. He was known for waking up Tinseltown every day with his likeable charm and knowledgeable take on the movie world, affectionately known as ‘Hollywood Sam’.
