Vontae Davis, Former NFL Star, was well-known for his career as a cornerback playing for multiple NFL teams. In 2015, he married Megan Harpe, his long-time partner.
The couple tied the knot in June at St. Regis Bahia Beach in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Their journey began in 2010 when they first met at K Street Lounge in Washington, DC, where Harpe was celebrating her best friend’s birthday.
Their love story continued as Davis proposed to Harpe on Halloween in 2013 by carving the words “Marry Me” into a pumpkin. Megan Harpe, originally from Hamden, Connecticut, graduated from Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland, where she studied political science and sociology in 2011.
She worked in the mental health field before moving to Miami, Florida, with Davis as he played for the Miami Dolphins. While in Miami, Harpe worked with veterans in need and pursued law school.
Sadly, Vontae Davis passed away at the age of 35 in Southwest Ranches, Florida. Authorities ruled out foul play in his death.
In the NFL, Vontae’s brother, Vernon Davis, gained recognition as a tight end for teams like the San Francisco 49ers, the Denver Broncos, and the Washington Commanders.
Vernon also delved into reality television, appearing on Dancing with the Stars and hosting reunions for The Challenge.
Speculations arose about Vernon’s romantic involvement with Ashley Darby from The Real Housewives of Potomac, although Ashley clarified that they are just friends who have flirted minimally.
