Oti Mabuse is a well-known professional dancer who shot to fame on the popular show Strictly Come Dancing.
Born in Pretoria, South Africa, Oti did not begin her journey as a professional dancer at a young age like many of her counterparts. Instead, she studied civil engineering at university before following in the footsteps of her older sister Motsi, who is a professional ballroom dancer.
In 2015, Oti joined Strictly for its thirteenth series and was initially partnered with boxer Anthony Ogogo, finishing in 14th place.
However, her standout performance came when she was paired with Hollyoaks actor Danny Mac, topping the leaderboard seven times and making it to the finals. Oti shocked fans when she announced her departure from the show after winning the glitterball trophy twice due to the pressure of working with difficult celebrity contestants.
In terms of net worth, Oti has accumulated significant wealth from her TV appearances. Strictly professionals reportedly earn around £50,000 per season, and she has also appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox, with celebrities earning £2,000 per episode. Estimates of Oti’s net worth range from £1.5 million to £4 million.
Oti’s most notable achievements include winning Strictly Come Dancing in 2019 with Kelvin Fletcher and defending her title in 2020 with Bill Bailey, making her the first professional to achieve this feat. She has also appeared on various TV shows such as The Greatest Dancer, Celebrity Masterchef, and The Masked Dancer.
Outside of her TV career, Oti is married to professional dancer Marius Iepure, and the couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in December 2023. Oti has continued to make waves in the entertainment industry by hosting her own ITV show, appearing in various programs, and competing in The Great Celebrity Bake Off 2024.
Fans can look forward to seeing Oti on upcoming shows like Celebrity Big Brother as a Late and Live guest, showcasing her talent and charm to audiences worldwide.
