Ons Jabeur, the Tunisian No9 seed and three-time grand slam finalist, is aiming for the 2024 French Open title with the support of her husband and trainer Karim Kamoun.
Karim is a former professional fencer who represented Tunisia in various international tournaments before transitioning to become Jabeur’s physical trainer in 2017. He focuses on improving her cardio fitness, strength, and flexibility to enhance her speed, mobility, and endurance.
Their partnership has led to historic achievements for Jabeur, including becoming the first Arab woman to reach a grand slam quarter-final at the 2020 Australian Open. She has since reached two Wimbledon finals and achieved the same feat at the US Open. The couple resides in Sousse, Tunisia, and they got married in 2015 after two years of dating.
Despite initial challenges in working together, Jabeur and Karim have found a balance that has produced fruitful results. Jabeur appreciates the overwhelming support she receives from fans in Tunisia, who often cheer for her in public places. She enjoys connecting with people and views it as an essential part of her journey in tennis.
While Jabeur does not have any children currently, she admires her friend Tatjana Maria, who continues to compete at the highest level in tennis despite being a mother of two.
Following her defeat in the 2023 Wimbledon final, Jabeur revealed that she had planned to start a family with her husband after the tournament if she had won.
The loss was emotionally challenging for her, but she remains determined to pursue her tennis career with the support of her husband and fans.
