Popular documentary filmmaker and television producer, Morgan Spurlock, passed away at the age of 53 on Thursday, May 23, 2024.
Known for his acclaimed 2004 film Super Size Me, Spurlock left behind a legacy of impactful storytelling.
Spurlock’s wife, Sara Bernstein, shared eight years of marriage with the talented creator, with the couple tying the knot in 2016. The sad news of Spurlock’s passing due to complications of cancer was confirmed by Variety.
In a heartfelt tribute to his late brother, Craig Spurlock expressed his sorrow at the loss of “a true creative genius and a special man” who had contributed immensely through his art, ideas, and generosity. The two brothers had collaborated on multiple projects over the years.
Prior to his marriage to Bernstein, Morgan Spurlock was married to Alex Jamieson from 2006 to 2011. Jamieson, a vegan chef, had appeared prominently in Spurlock’s popular film Super Size Me, adding her unique touch to the project.
Spurlock leaves behind two children, carrying on his legacy in their own unique ways.
