A tragedy that rocked Palm Beach County, Florida, in 1990 has finally seen some closure after over 30 years.
Marlene Warren, who was famously murdered by a person dressed as a clown, is getting justice as her killer, Sheila Keen Warren, has pleaded guilty in a recent plea deal.
Marlene was married to Michael Warren at the time of her death, and the case remained unsolved for years. In a shocking turn of events, it was revealed that Sheila, the second wife of Michael Warren, was the one behind the clown disguise that ended Marlene’s life.
Despite Michael’s staunch defense of his wife’s innocence, Sheila pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in April 2023. State Attorney Dave Aronberg confirmed that Sheila will be a convicted murderer for life, but the plea deal could see her released from prison within a year.
Marlene Warren left behind a son, Joe Ahrens, who has spoken openly about the impact of his mother’s death on his life. In an emotional interview, Joe recounted the tragic events of the day his mother was shot and killed at their front door by the clown assailant.
The case of Marlene’s murder has been the subject of much speculation and media attention, with an episode titled “The Case of the Killer Clown” airing on ABC in May 2023. The episode is available for streaming on Hulu and will re-air in May 2024.
