Lady Gabriella Kingston, the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, may not be as well-known as some other members of the British Royal Family, but she holds the 56th spot in the line of succession to the throne.
Born on April 23, 1981, Lady Gabriella, also known as Ella, grew up in Kensington Palace and shares her birthday with Prince Louis.
She received her education at Godstowe and Downe House School before obtaining a degree in Comparative Literature and Hispanic Studies from Brown University.
In 2012, Lady Gabriella earned an MPhil degree in Social Anthropology from Linacre College, Oxford. She is now a writer and has contributed to publications such as the Sunday Telegraph, the Evening Standard, Country Life, and The Spectator.
In 2020, Lady Gabriella made her debut as a singer-songwriter, releasing her first singles to support the Playing for Change Foundation. She married Thomas Kingston on May 18, 2019, in a ceremony at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, attended by the late Queen and other members of the Royal Family.
Lady Gabriella is a second cousin to King Charles, as her father, Prince Michael of Kent, is the Queen’s cousin. Despite her royal connections, Lady Gabriella is not a working member of the Royal Family and is currently 56th in line to the throne.
She is often seen at royal events like Trooping the Colour, Wimbledon, and Royal Ascot but does not have the same privileges as more senior royals.
Her husband, Thomas Kingston, is a Director of Devonport Capital and has a background in frontier market investment and diplomatic relations.
He previously worked in Baghdad as a project officer and negotiated the release of hostages. Thomas also has ties to the Middleton family, having previously dated Pippa Middleton before her marriage to James Matthews.
