J.D. Vance, the Ohio senator who recently won a seat in the United States Senate, has been married to his wife Usha Chilukuri for almost ten years.
Many voters are curious about Usha, a litigator for the law firm Munger, Tolles, & Olson based in San Francisco and Washington DC. Usha and J.D. met while attending law school at Yale and got married in 2014.
During her time at Yale, Usha was the managing editor of the Yale Journal of Law & Technology and the Executive Development Editor of the Yale Law Journal.
She is licensed to practice law in California, Ohio, and the District of Columbia. The couple has three children together named Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel.
In February 2024, J.D. celebrated Vivek’s fourth birthday by reading Dr. Seuss’ book “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!” to him.
Despite not being able to be there in person for his son’s birthday dinner, he expressed his love and read the book for Vivek to watch at home.
J.D. Vance is also known for his memoir, “Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis,” which was published in 2016. The book delves into his upbringing in Middletown, Ohio, and explores themes of poverty and working-class struggles.
It has been praised as essential reading, with The Wall Street Journal calling it “riveting.” In 2020, the memoir was adapted into a movie starring Amy Adams, Glenn Close, and Gabriel Basso, directed by Ron Howard.
