A recent publication of old text exchanges between Hunter Biden and his lawyer has shone a spotlight on corporate attorney George Misires.
The controversial texts, reported to have come from Hunter’s laptop, were revealed by the Daily Mail, shedding light on the relationship between Hunter and Misires.
George Misires is currently a corporate attorney and a partner at Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP. In addition to his role at the law firm, he serves as a Director of the Kendall Corporation, a not-for-profit community organization.
Misires is also a member of the board of directors of the Old People’s Home of the City of Chicago and has been an associate editor of the American Bankruptcy Institute Journal since 2010.
It is unclear how long Misires has been representing Hunter Biden, but reports indicate that he has been providing legal counsel to Joe Biden’s son since at least 2018.
The two recently met with US attorney David Weiss in late April 2023 to discuss an ongoing investigation into Hunter. This meeting came before Hunter was found guilty on all counts in his gun trial that took place in June 2024.
The text exchange between Hunter Biden and George Misires, as published by the Daily Mail, also revealed the lawyer’s hourly rate of $845.
In the texts, Hunter made racially charged comments and joked about the fees he might owe his lawyer. The controversial nature of the text messages has garnered attention and raised questions about the relationship between Hunter and Misires.
