Former Disney star Bridgit Mendler has made headlines lately for more than just her acting career.
The talented actress has mostly left the spotlight to focus on her studies at several prestigious universities and is now married to her longtime boyfriend, Griffin Cleverly.
Griffin is an engineer who earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California in Los Angeles in 2014.
He also has a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering. The couple co-founded Northwood, a company that plans to create antennas on Earth to send information to satellites.
Engineer and Cornell University graduate Shaurya Luthra is also listed as a co-founder of the project.
Bridgit Mendler and Griffin Cleverly reportedly began dating in 2017. The former child star announced their engagement on social media in April 2019, and the two shared their vows later that year, in October 2019. Bridgit announced the union on Instagram, captioning the post by saying, “Still riding the high of the weekend.”

In 2016, Bridgit earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of Southern California. She later began a fellowship with Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2017 and started a graduate program with the school.
The year after that, she enrolled in Harvard Law School. By 2020, she had finished her graduate degree at MIT and was pursuing a Ph.D. In 2024, she earned her Ph.D. from MIT and her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.
