Comedian Gary Owen, known for his stand-up comedy and acting career, recently opened up about his marriage to Kenya Duke on the Club Shay Shay podcast.
The couple was married from 2003 until 2021, when their divorce was finalized after a long and public process.
Kenya Duke, originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, is an entrepreneur and podcast host. She met Owen in the early 2000s at one of his stand-up shows in Los Angeles. Duke previously worked in real estate before launching her podcast, Truly Kenya, in 2023. The couple also co-starred in a reality TV show on BET called The Gary Owen Show in 2016, which showcased their lives with their children.
Throughout their marriage, Duke and Owen welcomed two children together, a son named Austin and a daughter named Kennedy. Duke also had a child from a previous marriage, named Emilio, whom Owen helped raise as a stepfather. Emilio, Austin, and Kennedy are all now adults.
Following their divorce, Owen has moved on and is now engaged to someone new. In July 2023, he welcomed twin sons with his fiancée, according to her Instagram.
Owen is well-known for his comedy specials on Showtime and BET, as well as his roles in comedy films like Daddy Day Care and Ride Along.
