Known for being the brother of Carole Middleton, Gary Goldsmith recently joined the Celebrity Big Brother house as part of the new series lineup.
The uncle of Kate Middleton, he has promised viewers an inside look at the Royal Family through his anecdotes, but he also has quite an interesting past of his own.
Having a reported net worth of £30 million, Gary married his now-ex-wife Julie-Ann Brown in 2012. However, in October 2017, he was arrested for allegedly assaulting Julie-Ann outside their central London home after a night out at an exclusive private members’ club.
The incident involved a row in the taxi home, where a taxi driver witnessed Gary hitting Julie-Ann after she accused him of doing cocaine.
Following his arrest, Gary pleaded guilty to knocking out his wife at Westminster Magistrates court and was ordered to pay a £5,000 fine and undergo alcohol rehabilitation.
Despite reports that Carole was not happy about Gary’s decision to appear on Celebrity Big Brother, he expressed hopes that she would be watching him on the show and that she would be proud of him if the best version of himself showed up.
Gary also mentioned his optimism that his niece, the Princess of Wales, along with her children Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte, would tune in.
As Gary settles in the Celebrity Big Brother house, viewers are eager to see how his stint on the show unfolds and whether he will fulfill his promises to share intriguing stories about the Royal Family.
