Who is ‘Dee Dee’ Blanchard’s daughter, Gypsy Rose?

On June 14, 2015, a shocking event occurred when Dee Dee Blanchard was found stabbed to death in her home.

This tragic incident uncovered a web of deception and manipulation that had been orchestrated by her own daughter, Gypsy Rose Blanchard, and her boyfriend at the time, Nicholas Godejohn.

Dee Dee had led Gypsy to believe that she suffered from a myriad of chronic health conditions since she was born prematurely. She claimed that Gypsy had leukemia, asthma, and muscular dystrophy, among other ailments. However, investigations revealed that Dee Dee likely suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a condition in which a caregiver fabricates or induces illness in a person under their care.

Following the murder of Dee Dee, Gypsy and Nicholas were arrested and charged in connection with her death. Gypsy later accepted a plea bargain, pleading guilty to second-degree murder and receiving a 10-year prison sentence. Despite being incarcerated, Gypsy expressed feeling freer behind bars than she ever did living under her mother’s control.

In November 2018, Nicholas Godejohn was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. Gypsy, on the other hand, was granted parole in September 2023 and released from the Chillicothe Correctional Center on December 28, 2023.

After her release, Gypsy married Ryan Scott Anderson, a teacher from Louisiana, and the couple began their new life together. However, rumors of Gypsy’s pregnancy surfaced when Ryan shared a photo touching her stomach on Instagram. While she initially shared selfies on social media, Gypsy eventually deleted her Instagram account and confirmed her separation from Ryan on Facebook.

Despite the tumultuous events that have unfolded in her life, Gypsy Rose Blanchard continues to navigate the complexities of her past and seek forgiveness for herself and her late mother, Dee Dee.

She hopes to inspire others in abusive relationships to find alternative solutions and avoid resorting to drastic measures like she once did.
