Who is celebrity chef David Chang?

David Chang is known far and wide for his successful restaurant group, Momofuku. But that’s not all there is to this accomplished celebrity chef. He is also an author, podcaster, and TV personality. The 46-year-old chef was born on August 5, 1977, in Arlington County, Virginia.

Chang has made quite a name for himself in the food industry and beyond. He has published books such as Momofuku alongside Peter Meehan in 2009; Momofuku Milk Bar with Christiana Tosi in 2011; Eat a Peach in 2020; and Cooking at Home: Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying About Recipes (And Love My Microwave): A Cookbook with Priya Krishna in 2021.

In addition to his writing, he hosts a podcast called The David Chang Show. According to the Apple Podcasts description, “In ranging conversations that cover everything from the creative process to his guest’s guiltiest pleasures, Dave and a rotating cast of smart, thought-provoking guests talk about their inspirations, failures, successes, fame, and identities.”

Chang has also built a substantial following on social media, with 1.8 million followers on Instagram and over 343,000 followers on Twitter.

As the founder of Momofuku, Chang began with the opening of Momofuku Noodle Bar in New York City in 2004. The group has since expanded, gaining praise from both the New York Times and Bon Appétit magazine. Momofuku has restaurants in the US and offers a line of “restaurant-grade products” designed for home cooks.

Besides his successful restaurant group, Chang has appeared on several TV shows, such as Chrissy & Dave Dine Out and Billions. He has also contributed to the industry as an executive producer for shows like Ugly Delicious, Drag Me to Dinner, and Dinner Time Live with David Chang.

With a successful career, it’s no wonder Chang’s net worth is valued at $20 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

In his personal life, Chang is married to a woman named Grace Seo Chang, and the couple tied the knot in 2017.
