The American basketball community is in mourning following the passing of NBA legend Bill Walton at the age of 71 after battling cancer.

The late Bill Walton is survived by his first wife, Susie, and their four children who have all followed in his footsteps and pursued basketball careers.

Adam Walton, the eldest of the four sons, played college basketball for Louisiana State University, Pomona College, and Notre Dame de Namur University.

He is now an assistant basketball coach for San Diego Mesa College. Nate Walton, the second eldest son, also played college basketball for Princeton University before pursuing a career in business. He is now an executive at Ares Secondaries Group, an investment firm based in California.

Chris Walton, another son, played college basketball for the San Diego State Aztecs before transitioning into a real estate career as an executive at Westar Associates in Newport Beach, California.

The youngest son, Luke Walton, played for the University of Arizona Wildcats and was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers, where he played for 10 seasons as both small and power forward. Luke went on to coach for the Golden State Warriors, the Lakers, and the Cavaliers, winning multiple championships with the Lakers.

The NBA community remembers Bill Walton as a Hall of Fame player who redefined the center position on the court.

His legacy lives on through his children who have continued his passion for basketball and excelled in their own careers.
