Mike Tyson’s eagerly awaited fight against Jake Paul faced a moment of uncertainty when the American icon experienced a medical emergency during his flight.
After much anticipation, the boxing legend is set to square off against The Problem Child in one of the summer’s most highly anticipated events.
Jake Paul has been on a winning streak, triumphing in his last three fights following a defeat to former Love Islander Tommy Fury in a grudge match.
There is a mixture of excitement and caution surrounding this upcoming fight for Tyson, as he has not been in the ring since his exhibition match with Roy Jones Jr in 2020.
However, concerns have heightened after Tyson’s medical scare on the flight.
The medical emergency reportedly occurred when Tyson became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up while on a flight from Miami to LA.
Paramedics quickly attended to Tyson upon landing, and a call for a doctor was made on the plane. Fortunately, a member of Tyson’s team provided an update that he is “doing great.”
According to the New York Post, the team member stated, “He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”
The highly-anticipated bout between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 20, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Notably, this fight will be broadcast exclusively on Netflix, marking the streaming platform’s first foray into combat sports. Jake Paul confirmed that the event will be available to all Netflix subscribers at no additional cost.
