Apple has introduced a new app called Apple Sports, designed to give sports fans real-time stats and scores for their favorite teams.
The app, released by Apple’s senior vice president of Services, Eddy Cue, is aimed at providing incredibly fast access to scores and stats for sports enthusiasts.
At the moment, Apple Sports is focused on certain leagues, including MLS, NCAA Basketball, NBA, NHL, Bundesliga, Liga MX, Ligue 1, La Liga, Premier League, and Serie A. However, it is set to include MLB, NFL, WNBA, and other leagues in the future.
The app allows users to select their favorite leagues and teams and then provides their team’s scheduled matchups and results, in addition to box scores and play-by-play updates.
Users can also swipe left to review previous results and swipe right to view the upcoming games. The app presents matchups in a card format, allowing for easy scrolling to read further information on the games.
Apple Sports is available for free in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. on the App Store, but users will need to have iOS 17.2 or later installed on their iPhones to access the app.
Additionally, the app is said to sync seamlessly with favorites selected within the My Sports experience, including in the Apple TV app and Apple News. As of now, the app is reported to be ads-free.
With Apple Sports, iPhone users can now stay updated with all their favorite sports teams in one convenient app.
