David Pastrnak, also known affectionately as Pasta, has become a legend in the hockey world at a relatively young age.
The Czech Republic native has been wowing fans with his skills on the ice since joining the Boston Bruins in 2014, both in the US and internationally.
One of the most endearing aspects of Pastrnak’s persona is his pregame ritual of eating pasta – a habit that has earned him his beloved nickname, Pasta. Fans, teammates, and friends all refer to him by this moniker, which has now even evolved into a business venture with a local supermarket chain.
In a recent collaboration with Stop & Shop, Pastrnak released limited-edition boxes of penne called “Pasta’s pasta,” with all proceeds going to support pediatric cancer research and care. The boxes were available at stores in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, all priced at 88 cents as a nod to Pastrnak’s jersey number.
But Pasta’s impact off the ice goes beyond pasta boxes. He is also a devoted family man, having welcomed a daughter named Freya Ivy Pastrnak with his longtime girlfriend Rebecca Rohlsson in 2023. This joyous occasion came two years after the heartbreaking loss of their son Viggo Rohl Pastrnak, who tragically passed away just six days after being born.
Despite the challenges he’s faced both on and off the ice, Pastrnak continues to excel in his hockey career. As a key player for the Boston Bruins, he has proven himself time and time again, setting personal records and securing lucrative contract extensions.
From his humble beginnings in the Czech Republic to becoming a household name in the world of professional hockey, David “Pasta” Pastrnak’s journey is one of resilience, talent, and heart.
And with his continued success both on and off the ice, it’s clear that Pasta’s legacy is only just beginning.
