American Pop sensation, Taylor Swift, has made history as the world’s richest female musician, surpassing Rihanna with an estimated net worth of $1.6 billion.

Swift’s wealth stems primarily from her successful music career, which includes her record-breaking Eras Tour and a highly valuable music catalogue. She now holds the second spot on Forbes’ list of richest musicians, falling just behind Jay-Z.

Forbes reported that as of October 8, 2024, Taylor Swift’s net worth exceeded that of Rihanna, who boasts a net worth of $1.4 billion.

Jay-Z remains at the top with a net worth of $2.5 billion. Swift is the first musician to achieve billionaire status through her music and performances, accumulating nearly $600 million from royalties and touring, a music catalog valued at around $600 million, and real estate assets totaling $125 million, according to Forbes.

The Eras Tour, which Swift recently completed in Europe, is projected to be the most profitable in American history, with an estimated revenue of $4.1 billion for the singer. The tour is set to conclude by the end of 2024.

Rihanna, who previously held the title of the richest female musician, accumulated her wealth through ventures outside of music, such as her successful cosmetics line Fenty Beauty, which doubled its revenue in 2022. She also has a 28% stake in the Savage x Fenty lingerie line, which raised $125 million in a funding round in January 2022.
