As Memorial Day Weekend 2024 approaches, many retailers are preparing to close their doors for the unofficial start of summer.
While some supermarkets and department stores will have reduced hours or limited operation, ShopRite locations will be open for business as usual.
ShopRite will remain open throughout Memorial Day weekend, including Saturday and Sunday. On Memorial Day itself, most ShopRite stores will be operating during normal business hours, with some locations even staying open 24 hours a day.
It is recommended that shoppers check the hours of their local store in advance to avoid any surprises.
ShopRite, founded in 1946 under the name Wakefern Food Corp., has over 300 locations across the US. The store operates as a cooperative buying group, allowing affiliates to receive discounts from manufacturers by purchasing items in bulk. Despite each location having a unique design, most stores maintain similar hours and pricing.
While ShopRite remains open for most federal holidays, including New Year’s Day and Independence Day, the store is closed on Christmas Day. Shoppers can expect adjusted hours on certain holidays such as Easter Sunday, Christmas Eve, and Thanksgiving.
