Dynamic twin photographers, Twinsdontbeg, have opened up about their journey from aspiring musicians to accomplished photographers, in an exclusive interview on Joy Learning’s The Career Trail.
The twins shared that their love for music was sparked when they moved to Tema to live with their older sister.
Tema’s budding music scene, with artists like Sarkodie, Yaa Pono, and D Cryme making waves, inspired them to delve into the world of music. They were enthusiastic about visiting studios, recording songs, and even collaborating with renowned artists.
Despite their passion for music, their dreams were crushed by their father, who was a Pentecost church elder with strong religious beliefs. He vehemently opposed their musical pursuits, leading to a heartbreaking confrontation that forced the twins to abandon their music careers.
Undeterred by their father’s disapproval, the twins continued to pursue their passion for music in secret, appearing on TV and radio to promote their songs. However, their father’s discovery of their clandestine activities led to a series of arguments and disappointments, ultimately putting an end to their musical aspirations.
Although their father suggested that they pursue gospel music instead, the twins’ interests lay elsewhere, prompting them to explore new avenues. This pivotal experience redirected their path, eventually leading them to discover their passion for photography.
