Ghanaian musician Mr. Drew has opened up about the challenges and motivations behind his striking bald look. In an interview on Daybreak Hitz with DJ Slim, Mr. Drew shared that maintaining a bald head comes with its own set of difficulties.
He revealed that he has to be cautious of the sun, stating, “We can’t really walk in the sun because it really affects the brain, yeah man,” in Pidgin English.
Due to this, he avoids video shoots during the day, explaining, “I don’t like shoots during the day, it makes my head ache. The sun shines directly and cools your brain, I can’t handle it.”
On a lighter note, Mr. Drew highlighted the benefits of having a bald head, jokingly saying, “Barbers don’t take my money because I shave my head. If they take my money, it’s because of my beard.”
When asked about his inspiration for the bold look, Mr. Drew expressed his desire to stand out in the music industry.
He views his bald head as a deliberate choice to create a unique identity as a young musician in an industry where dreadlocks and other hairstyles are more common.
Interestingly, Mr. Drew clarified that his bald look is not due to hair loss but rather a personal preference. He frequently shaves his head and can grow his hair back at will.
