American NFL player Jonathan Owens has been making headlines not just for his athletic prowess, but also for his relationship with Paris 2024 gold medalist Simone Biles.
Born on July 22, 1995, in St. Louis, Missouri, Owens began his career in the NFL when he was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals during the league’s 2018 draft.
However, after a season spent on the injury reserve, he was waived by the Cardinals on August 31, 2019.
Owens has also had stints with the Green Bay Packers and the Houston Texans before signing with the Chicago Bears on March 13, 2024.
Owens and Biles tied the knot on April 22, 2023, after meeting on the exclusive dating app Raya in March 2020.
The couple had two weddings – a legal ceremony in a Houston courthouse and a larger celebration in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Biles gushed about her husband, saying, “I just love him. We have a great time together. Our personalities match right up.
We have the same sense of humor and he’s just great. He’s an athlete too, so we really understand each other. I think that’s why our relationship has been seamless.”
The couple’s relationship began during the COVID-19 pandemic, and despite not knowing much about gymnastics, Owens was drawn to Biles and her success.
“I didn’t know who she was at the time, but the first thing that I saw was that she just had a bunch of followers.
So in my mind, I’m like, she gotta be good. I never really paid attention to gymnastics, so it piqued my curiosity,” Owens shared on The Pivot Podcast.
Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens’ love story is a true testament to finding love unexpectedly and building a strong foundation together.
